    BUSINESS PURPOSE

    The purpose of this activity is to plan the phase and initiate pertinent ISEM/DBEM/EEM projects in accordance with the Enterprise Information Strategy.  

    OVERVIEW

    This activity represents the formal initiation point for other development projects. In terms of "PRIDE," it marks the introduction of the Information Systems Engineering Methodology (ISEM) and Data Base Engineering Methodology (DBEM). It also marks the starting point for the next Enterprise Engineering Methodology (EEM) related project(s).

    Information Resource Management reviews the Enterprise Information Strategy (EIS) with Systems Resource Management, Data Resource Management, D.P. Operations, and Enterprise Resource Management. Specific Work Requests and Projects are discussed in terms of their scope, priority, and assignments.

    Following this review, the various projects are activated.  

    STEPS IN EXECUTION

    1. Project Management prepares a Detail estimate and schedule for the activities of the phase.

    2. Information Resource Management initiates the Enterprise Information Strategy by establishing pertinent ISEM, DBEM and EEM projects. Systems Resource Management, Data Resource Management, Enterprise Resource Management, and Data Processing Operations are briefed on the EIS and required project work.
