TECHNIQUES
- Review and edit as required the System Logic Narrative.
This is the system's Descriptive Text as recorded on the
main system resource in the IRM Repository. The narrative
should describe the overall system, the types of information
requirements implemented, and the business functions involved
(user departments).
- For each "object" (application logical FD) in the system,
prepare Descriptive Text describing the purpose of the
FD. This text is recorded on the FD in the IRM.
- Establish explicit relationships between inputs, outputs,
and files in the IRM. Use the "PRIDE" worksheets to document
these relationships.
- Review the remaining rough design of the system
(procedures and programs) and update accordingly.
- Prepare a Sub-System Concept Diagram for each sub-system.
- Prepare Sub-System Logic Narrative for each sub-system
in the system. The narrative should describe the:
- The Business Purpose of the sub-system.
- Steps in Execution (supports the Sub-System Concept
Diagram).
- Special processing rules.
- Implementation considerations.
For information on the "PRIDE" Worksheets; consult the following
section: "PRIDE" Forms
