    BUSINESS PURPOSE

The purpose of this activity is to formally release the system for production.

    OVERVIEW

Systems Engineering coordinates a system start-up schedule that is agreeable to both User Management and DP Operations. As the system is put into production, systems personnel may have to provide guidance and answer questions.

Following system start-up, the IRM resources should be activated to prohibit further editing. Also, training aids and other project documentation is reviewed by Quality Assurance prior to being filed in the Technical Library.

    STEPS IN EXECUTION

    1. Systems Engineering coordinates a system start-up schedule.

    2. Systems Engineering provides guidance to User Management and DP Operations during system start-up. In this capacity, Systems Engineering acts as an expediter.

    3. Systems Engineering forwards copies of training aids and project documentation to the Technical Library for filing. This will be used by IRM Training/Education personnel in the future when presenting the system to additional users.
