    SCOPE OF FUNCTION

This is an IRM support function that has direct responsibility for implementing an "Information Factory" environment for Information Resource Management. This function is analogous to the Industrial Engineering function as used in manufacturing. The purpose of the IRM Engineering function is to define and monitor the IRM environment, and suggest new tools and techniques to expedite the development process. Responsibilities include standards analysis and inspection.

Since "PRIDE" provides an "Information Factory" environment, the function of "PRIDE" Coordination is concerned with the effective implementation of this product. In the initial stages of implementation, a "PRIDE" Coordinator acts as the Project Manager for getting the products installed and operational. The coordinator plans and directs the implementation process, including the use of other functions who participate in implementation (a "PRIDE" Support Team). Following the initial implementation, the "PRIDE Coordinator represents the formal liaison with the "PRIDE" vendor.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Participates in the development of all policies and procedures as they pertain to IRM Engineering and executes accordingly.

    2. Establishes an implementation plan for the installation of "PRIDE" products and assures they are followed.

    3. Acts as the formal liaison to the "PRIDE" vendor. This specifically includes coordinating correspondence and contact with the vendor. Also, processes pertinent modification/improvement requests to the vendor for consideration.

    4. Coordinates the initial distribution of "PRIDE" materials in an installation (e.g., manuals, forms, tapes, diskettes, etc.). The Technical Librarian participates in the distribution and control of materials.

    5. Acts as an internal consultant for the other IRM functions and answers questions and resolves problems concerning the use of "PRIDE" products.

    6. Schedules and coordinates "PRIDE" vendor services (e.g., training and consulting). IRM Education/Training participates.

    7. Assures that "PRIDE" product updates are properly implemented.

    8. After the IRM environment has been defined, constantly monitors development and looks for new tools and techniques for expediting the development process in the most cost effective means possible.

    9. Reports to IRM Quality Assurance and other IRM support functions on plans and activities.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

    1. A thorough understanding of "PRIDE" products.

    2. Skilled in project management (planning, estimating, scheduling, reporting, control, and leadership) to assure the successful execution of the implementation project of "PRIDE."

    3. Must be a skilled communicator to assure proper communications between the installation and the "PRIDE" vendor.

    4. In-depth knowledge of IRM standards, including tools and techniques.

    5. Good interpersonal relations/communications skills.

    6. Effective writing skills.

    7. Good analytical and problem solving skills.

    EVALUATION OF PERFORMANCE

The following list is intended as a guide to evaluate the performance of the "PRIDE" Coordination/IRM Engineering function. Evaluation will be based upon observation by Quality Assurance, Enterprise Resource Management, Systems Resource Management, Data Resource Management, Data Processing Operations, and the other IRM support functions.

    1. "PRIDE" products have been successfully implemented according to plan.

    2. Correspondence and other forms of communication with the "PRIDE" vendor are coordinated and controlled.

    3. All "PRIDE" manuals and materials are controlled and accounted for.

    4. Successfully resolves questions and problems concerning the proper use of "PRIDE."

    5. Coordinates and schedules successful "PRIDE" training classes and workshops, and ensures that other company training does not conflict with "PRIDE" methodologies.

    6. All IRM related policies and procedures are followed by the IRM staff.

    FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Subordinate to IRM Quality Assurance. Maintains a lateral working relationship with IRM Education/Training, Project Administration, and the Technical Librarian. Also works with all IRM functions in an advisory capacity.
