IRM TRAINING/EDUCATION

    SCOPE OF FUNCTION

    This is an IRM support function that has direct responsibility for providing training and educational programs that promote skills related to Information Resource Management (e.g., Enterprise Engineering, Systems Engineering, Program/Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Base Administration, Data Communications Administration, Data Processing Operations, Project Management, IRM Quality Assurance, etc.).

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Participates in the development of all policies and procedures as they pertain to education/training.

    2. Provide an effective curriculum of education/training programs that promotes IRM related skills.

    3. Arrange for training accommodations and the actual execution of courses, either on-site or off-site. Courses may be conducted by internal staff or external consultants.

    4. Monitor the skills and proficiencies of the IRM staff to evaluate the need for additional training.

    5. Participates as a member of the Support Team for implementing "PRIDE" products.

    6. Report to Information Resource Management and other support functions on plans and activities.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

    1. A working knowledge of "PRIDE" products.

    2. The skills and proficiencies of IRM related resources.

    3. The ability to develop and implement an IRM training curriculum.

    4. An in-depth knowledge of IRM standards.

    5. Good interpersonal relations/communications skills.

    6. Effective writing skills.

    7. Good analytical and problem solving skills.

    EVALUATION OF PERFORMANCE

    The following list is intended as a guide to evaluate the performance of the IRM Education/Training function. Evaluation will be based upon observation by IRM Quality Assurance, Enterprise Resource Management, Systems Resource Management, Data Resource Management, Data Processing Operations, and the other IRM support functions.

    1. An on-going curriculum of IRM related training offerings is in place to constantly improve skills.

    2. The skills and proficiencies of the IRM staff are being routinely monitored and evaluated.

    3. All IRM related policies and procedures, as they pertain to IRM Education/Training, are followed by the IRM staff.

    FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

    Subordinate to IRM Quality Assurance. Maintains a lateral working relationship with "PRIDE" Coordination/IRM Engineer, Project Administration, and the Technical Librarian. Also works with IRM management functions to determine training needs.
