SCOPE OF FUNCTION
This function represents the end-users who are the
recipients of information. "Users" are frequently referred to
as the "customers" or "clients" for IRM functions. The primary
purpose of User Management is to initiate requests for
information applications which may result in new development
projects or modification/improvements. In "PRIDE" related
projects, the users will actively participate in various
capacities (e.g., to be interviewed, review deliverables,
participate in project decisions).
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in the gathering of facts during Phases
1, 2 and 3 of EEM.
- Reviews and approves the formal deliverables resulting
from Phases 1, 2 and 3 of EEM.
- Participates in the gathering of facts during Phase 1
of ISEM.
- Reviews and approves the formal deliverables resulting
from Phases 1, 2, 3, 4-I and 9 of ISEM.
- Responsible for initiating requests for new information
or modifications to existing systems.
- Good interpersonal relations/communications skills.
- Must be results oriented.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- A basic knowledge and understanding of "PRIDE"
products as it relates to the User Management
function, particularly EEM, ISEM and PM.
- A thorough understanding of the business information
problem to be solved.
- The skill to express information requirements in a
clear concise manner.
- The ability to critically review formal deliverables
resulting from a "PRIDE" methodology.
EVALUATION OF PERFORMANCE
The following list is intended as a guide to evaluate
the performance of User Management. Evaluation will be based
upon observation by Executive Management and Information
Resource Management.
- Initiates clear and concise requests for information.
- Participates in projects as prescribed by a project's
methodology (e.g., EEM or ISEM).
- Reviews and thoroughly understands project deliverables.
- Commits resources to projects as required by the project
plan.
- Promotes an atmosphere of cooperation and understanding in
the user organization to assure a positive working
relationship with all IRM functions.
FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Subordinate to Executive Management. Maintains a lateral
working relationship with Information Resource Management.
